Last updated: 16 October 2026. Written by Ankur Pandey, AI Credit Care. Disclosure: AI Credit Care makes one of the tools in this category and is included in the table below, clearly marked. We compared published features, prices and terms on each company’s own website on 16 October 2026. We did not test outcomes, and no tool here can promise one.
Quick answer: The best free AI credit repair options right now are limited. Dovly’s free plan includes a manual dispute tool for TransUnion, Kikoff describes its AI dispute letters as free, and the bureaus’ own online dispute tools are free though not AI-powered. Paid AI credit repair tools we checked cost from $9.99 a month to $99.99 a year to $199.99 a month. The best one for you is the one that covers all three bureaus, lets you approve every dispute, and is honest that results aren’t guaranteed.
What AI credit repair actually does
AI credit repair software reads your credit reports, flags items that may be inaccurate, and drafts dispute letters. Some tools send the disputes for you. That can save hours of paperwork, but the legal rules don’t change: under the Fair Credit Reporting Act you can dispute information that is inaccurate, incomplete or unverifiable, and the FTC says no one can legally remove information that is accurate and current. AI doesn’t create new rights; it just speeds up using the ones you have.
How we compared the tools
- Control: do you approve each dispute before it goes out?
- Coverage: does it work with Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, or just one?
- Cost: what you pay per month or year, and when you are billed.
- Honesty: does it avoid promising deletions or score gains, and explain its claims?
- Free access: what you can do without paying.
AI credit repair tools compared (16 October 2026)
| Tool | Free option | Paid price | What the AI does | You approve disputes? | Bureaus |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dovly | Yes: free plan with a manual TransUnion dispute tool and monthly TransUnion report | Premium $99.99 a year (the site also lists $39.99 a month) | Flags errors and runs automated disputes | Disputes are described as automated | TransUnion only for disputes |
| Kikoff AI disputes | Described as free on its site (wording varies between pages) | Kikoff plans $5 to $35 a month | Finds errors and drafts a letter for each | Yes, you review before it goes out | Equifax named on the page |
| 850AI | Unclear: the site mentions free DIY letter downloads but its FAQ says there is no free plan | $59.99, $99.99 or $199.99 a month, billed at sign-up | Compares all three reports, drafts letters, prepares monthly rounds | Yes on Send; 24-hour review window on Auto plans | All three |
| Credit Booster AI | 7-day free trial on the Plus plan | $9.99, $29.99 or $99.99 a month | AI report review and dispute letters | Not stated on the pricing page | All three |
| AI Credit Care (our product) | Yes: free analysis of all three reports, no credit card | $89 or $129 a month | Reviews all three reports, flags possible errors, drafts disputes | Yes, every dispute | All three |
Free, non-AI options worth knowing: Experian’s online dispute center and Credit Karma Direct Dispute (TransUnion only) are both free, and Equifax and TransUnion accept disputes on their own sites at no cost. Notes on each tool
Dovly
Dovly has the most generous free plan of the AI tools: a monthly TransUnion report and score plus a manual TransUnion dispute tool, with no card needed. Premium adds unlimited AI-powered disputes, but its FAQ says disputes go only to TransUnion, electronically. It shows average score lifts on its pricing page with a note that not everyone will get the same results.
Kikoff AI disputes
Kikoff’s tool finds possible errors and drafts a personalized letter for each, and you review the letter before it goes out. Its site describes the tool as free in some places and as available to paid members in others, so check the current terms when you sign up. Only Equifax is named on the dispute page.
850AI
850AI covers all three bureaus and mails the letters for you. On its Send plan nothing goes out until you click Send; on Auto plans each round goes out after a 24-hour review window. Its FAQ says every plan is billed on the day you sign up, while its terms reference the Credit Repair Organizations Act, which bars credit repair organizations from charging before services are fully performed. It offers a money-back guarantee with strict conditions, including six continuous months on an Auto plan.
Credit Booster AI
Credit Booster AI offers AI report review and bureau-ready dispute letters across all three bureaus, with a 7-day free trial on its entry plan. Its pricing page doesn’t say whether you approve each letter or how letters are sent, so ask before you subscribe. It is separate from creditbooster.com, a done-for-you service with much higher prices.
AI Credit Care
Our own tool: a free analysis that scans all three reports and ranks likely errors, then paid plans where disputes are drafted for each item you choose and you approve every letter. We’ve listed it so you can compare it on the same terms as the others. Results vary, and accurate, verifiable information cannot be removed by us or by anyone else.
Is free AI credit repair worth it?
For one or two obvious errors, yes. A free tool or the bureau’s own dispute page is all you need. Paid tools earn their cost when you have several items across all three bureaus and want letters drafted and deadlines tracked. Either way, the result depends on whether the item is actually wrong, not on how clever the software is.
The risks of letting AI file disputes
- You are responsible for what you dispute. Disputing information you know is accurate is not what the law protects, and bureaus can stop investigating disputes they consider frivolous.
- Boilerplate gets noticed. Credit reporting made up more than 88% of CFPB complaints in 2025, and industry groups have pushed back on what they call boiler-plate disputes, according to Banking Dive. Specific, documented disputes work better than mass-produced ones.
- Automation without review. Prefer tools that let you read and approve each letter.
- Billing terms. Check when you are charged and how to cancel before you enter a card.
Checklist: choosing the best AI credit repair tool
- Start with a free option or free analysis before paying.
- Make sure it covers the bureau or bureaus where your errors are.
- Confirm you approve every dispute.
- Add up the yearly cost, including any required monitoring.
- Read the fine print on billing, cancellation and any guarantee.
- Walk away from promises of deletions, set score gains or a “new credit identity”.
Common questions
View allWhat is the best free AI credit repair tool?
Free options are limited. Dovly’s free plan includes a manual TransUnion dispute tool, and Kikoff describes its AI dispute letters as free. The credit bureaus’ own online dispute tools are free for everyone, though they don’t use AI.
Does AI credit repair work?
AI can find possible errors and draft dispute letters faster. Whether an item changes depends on whether it is actually inaccurate, incomplete or unverifiable. No AI tool can remove accurate, current information.
Is AI credit repair legit?
The tools themselves can be legitimate, but check the claims and terms. Avoid any service that promises deletions or a specific score increase, and know that credit repair organizations can’t charge before services are fully performed under federal law.
How much does AI credit repair cost?
The tools we checked on 16 October 2026 ranged from free plans to $9.99 a month, $99.99 a year, and up to $199.99 a month.
Is AI credit repair better than doing it yourself?
It mainly saves time. Everything an AI tool does, you can do yourself for free with your credit reports and the bureaus’ dispute pages.
Can AI credit repair software send disputes for me?
Some tools mail or file disputes for you, sometimes automatically. Choose one that lets you review and approve each dispute, because you are responsible for what is sent in your name.
